Applied AI & systems integration

Put AI to work in your business

Help your team find information, work through documents and prepare useful drafts. We connect AI to the systems you use, with people in control of the decisions that matter.

For teams handling repetitive document work, recurring questions or an AI prototype that needs a practical place in the business.

How it comes together

From information to action, with your team in control.

  1. Approved inputs

Agree the source set, access and examples.

  2. Bounded AI step

Retrieve, classify, draft or extract for the task.

  3. Evaluation and human decisions

Check outputs, exceptions and permitted actions.

  4. Release and ownership

Accept the purchased phase and name its operator.

This is a delivery structure, not evidence of completed client work. Production release and wider rollout are explicit scope decisions.

Where could AI help your team?

Start with a task that takes too much time, information that is hard to find or a prototype you want to put to use. We help you choose the right first project.

The task is clear

You know the input, the expected output and the person accountable for it. Scope the missing connection or AI-assisted step.

Start with: a Focused Integration with a written evaluation and release boundary.

The opportunity is uncertain

Several ideas compete, permissions are unclear or there is no baseline. Make the build-or-buy decision before committing to implementation.

Start with: an Implementation Assessment and a bounded recommendation.

A prototype already exists

Inspect its source, permissions, evaluation record and dependencies before expanding it. Retain useful work and identify missing production obligations.

Start with: a scoped prototype and integration review with a prioritized delivery brief.

A tested prototype, a released integration and an ongoing operating service are different deliverables. The proposal identifies which are included. Business approvals stay with the named owners; wider access, automated actions and rollout require their own acceptance.

What you get

Built for your business.
Ready for your team.

A plan for the work you want to improve

Define the task, permitted inputs, expected output and actions the system may take. Compare AI with a simpler tool or process, and agree how to assess usefulness, errors, review effort and running cost.

AI connected to your existing tools

Build the agreed retrieval, classification, drafting or extraction workflow. Connect approved sources and interfaces, expose uncertainty, and route exceptions and consequential actions to a person.

The guidance to put it to work

Deliver the agreed code or configuration, test record, known limitations and operating notes. Where release is included, document access, monitoring, recovery and the decision to put that exact scope into use.

How we check the work

Write acceptance before building, using examples your reviewers can judge. Keep the evaluation record with the delivered version.

  • Representative, incomplete and unsuitable inputs produce the agreed result, refusal or escalation.
  • Source support, permission boundaries and human approval are checked where the workflow relies on them.
  • Compare task quality, checking effort, response time and running cost with the baseline; record unresolved limits.
  • Where release is included, verify recovery, operating access and the named support handoff.

Getting started

What we need from you

The project needs business judgment and permission as well as a technical connection.

  • An accountable process owner, intended users and a person who can approve the scope.
  • Representative synthetic or approved examples, expected outcomes and known exceptions.
  • Authorized access to relevant systems through an agreed secure method, plus review availability and provider-handling constraints.

Review the work

Illustrative scope: prepare a request for review

A workflow could read an approved request, prepare a structured draft, attach its source and route it to an owner. A person approves any business-system update. This is an illustration of a possible scope, not a reported client result; published owned work has its own documented checks and limits.

Review the scope of owned engineering work

From first conversation to daily use

  1. Agree a task, owner and baseline. Confirm source rights, system access, provider handling and representative examples before implementation.
  2. Build one bounded increment and evaluate it against the agreed examples, including failure and refusal cases. Your subject-matter reviewers judge whether the result is useful.
  3. Resolve material defects, record limitations and decide whether to release, revise or stop. Handover and any wider rollout follow the agreed acceptance and operating responsibilities.

Ownership and ongoing support

The agreement identifies rights and operating responsibilities before the system becomes a dependency.

  • Specify ownership of custom code, configuration and evaluation materials, with third-party license and transfer limits.
  • Hand over agreed repository and account access, connector inventory, user guidance and recovery notes.
  • Name the owner of source updates, model changes, monitoring and incidents. Maintenance and new use cases are separately scoped.

Remote delivery around the people and systems involved

Butler is based in Detroit. Working hours, delivery language, access arrangements and review owners are agreed for each remote engagement. Work involving another market also needs an explicit assessment of data handling, integration access and support arrangements.

A clear scope.
An informed investment.

The fee and schedule follow the use case and the amount of uncertainty to resolve.

  • Source condition, identity and permissions, integration count and the permitted action boundary.
  • Evaluation depth, review availability, production reliability and handover requirements.
  • Hosting, model usage, connector licenses and optional operating support are identified separately.

Your first project

Focused Integration

The first paid output is one defined connection or workflow with acceptance checks, documentation and ownership. The proposal states whether it ends at evaluation or includes release. If the task or feasibility is unclear, an Implementation Assessment produces the decision and bounded build brief first; it is not mandatory for every project.

Discuss the right starting point

Before you commit

What if AI is not the right tool?

Use ordinary software, an existing platform or a process change when it meets the task more reliably. The evaluation compares the simplest workable options; a model is not a required component of the engagement.

Decide what to build, buy or defer

Can you use our existing applications?

First confirm their APIs, exports, licenses and permission model. Scope read access and proposed changes separately. A restricted integration can be a useful first delivery without replacing the application.

Does an accepted prototype mean we can deploy it?

Only if the purchased phase includes release and its operational checks pass. Production access, recovery, user guidance and a support owner must be agreed. Acceptance may instead recommend revision or stopping the idea.

Can the project be phased?

Yes. Agree the first useful output and the decision it enables, then commission further work when justified. Selected engagements may use reduced upfront cost with revenue-based payments; eligibility, measurement, payment limits and exit terms are agreed individually.

Compare engagement and payment structures

Make the tool decision before the commitment

Use the build-versus-buy guide to compare existing tools with a custom or hybrid implementation, including permissions, evaluation and ongoing cost.

Compare buying, configuring and building AI tools

Where would AI make the work easier?

Tell us which task slows people down, what tools they use and what a useful result would look like. A description is enough to start; keep private records and credentials out of the inquiry.
